The Department of Library and Information science educates students to become librarians and information specialists who are able to (1) collect, organize and process knowledge and information of high quality in systematic ways, (2) create from them value-added information products and services for the public, government, industry and academia, and (3) preserve and communicate human intellectual, artistic and cultural assets for the present and future generations.
